Chapter 8 - 'Last Letters'

Chapter title and photo analysis:

This photograph was taken by Larry Burrows, it shows two coffins and many soldiers in the background paying their respects. Both the coffins have the American flag laid across them. This photograph goes extremely well with the chapter title as it is about all the soldiers last letters that they had written before they finally got to go home. But most of them didn’t make it home, which shows in this picture. I think that this photograph was taken at the end of the war because they are burying soldiers. This image makes me extremely sad because so many soldiers lost their lives for others.
